Summer of 2003, and work was in full swing on the mosaic project. Artists Janice Stevens Botsford, Bill Darwin II, Marsi Darwin, Rick DeTroyer, Lorin Kummer, and Nancy Solo oversaw cutting the glass and laying the tile. Literally hundreds of volunteers worked on the piece over the course of the summer.

The first week, Bill Darwin II began with cutting leaves which would be set in cement leading to the spiral,
and sprinkled throughout.

After a panel was cut and glued into place on fiberglass mesh in the garage, it was brought inside
and laid on the pattern in the library.

The next step is a gate to the pathway, created by Rick DeTroyer and Bill Darwin II. A scale model graced the site the day of the dedication. It was auctioned at CCDA's Autumn Jubilee on October 11, 2003.
